The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission ("EEC") has prepared a draft decision "On classification of breast implants in accordance with the unified Commodity nomenclature of foreign economic activity of the Eurasian Economic Union" (the "EEC decision"). This EEC decision is published on the EEC website and is available for public discussion until 16 December 2020.
The EEC proposes to classify a breast implant, a sterile medical product used in plastic surgery in accordance with the main rules on interpretation of Commodity nomenclature of foreign economic activity (“HS code”) 1 and 6 classified under subposition 9021 90 900 of the unified HS code of the Euraisan Economic Union. The classification will impact the customs duty rates on import of goods.
