CIPD Certificate in Human Resource Management (CHRM)

Who is it for

This qualification aims to develop entrepreneurial approach in HR people, shifting them from HR practitioners into Business people in HR.  Its mission is to redirect them from a narrow action under the HR-function in activities directly related to the business organization.

CHRM is suitable for you if:

  • you are  already working in a managerial position in HR, leading a team of people or individual projects;
  • you are looking to extend your knowledge and skills in order to develop your career;
  • you want to gain international credibility and recognition.

The ideal candidate will have responsibility for implementing HR policies and strategies and have a need to understand the role of HR in the wider organisational and environmental context and is willing to read, study, discuss, share and develop further.

Jan Stepan, M.A. brings extensive experience in learning, talent and leadership development from his career that spans three continents. He switched careers to Human Resources, People and Talent Development as he is passionate about helping others succeed in an increasingly complex and fast changing world.

Over time, Jan has served as a Head of Mission for People in Need in Afghanistan, L&D Leader for PwC in Eurasia, Development Leader of PwC CEE, Learning Relationships Lead for Deals in PwC UK and Leadership Development and Coaching Leader for PwC in Canada.

His primary objective in his current role is to bring the latest trends in strategic leadership development to PwC clients in Eurasia (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan). He possesses a unique combination of practical leadership experience, strategy, design, facilitation and coaching.

Masters degree in Economics of International Trade and European Integration from a consortium of top European Universities (Antwerp, Belgium; Lille, France and Prague, Czech Republic)

  • Jan has served on PwC’s Partner Admission Committees both in CEE and UK

On successful completion of the qualification, you will

  • understand the requirements of, and perform as, an effective and efficient, self-managing HR professional, a collaborative member of top management working groups and teams, and an added-value contributor to stakeholders of the organisation,
  • be able to manage recruitment, selection, dismissal, redundancy and retirement activities effectively and within the expectations of the law and good practice,
  • understand the business context of the total reward philosophy and the use of reward intelligence,
  • know how to identify and scrutinise appropriate HR data sources enabling you to conduct research and analyse the findings,
  • understand the purpose and key objectives of the HR function in contemporary organisations,
  • be able to undertake core talent planning activities, know how to maximise employee retention and how to contribute to the development of resourcing strategies,
  • know how to drawing meaningful conclusions and evaluate options for change, and present them persuasively to the management board for supporting changes proposed,
  • understand key labour market trends and their significance for different kinds of organisations and in different country contexts.
  • upon Completion of CHRM you will gain CIPD Certificate in Human Resources Management and CIPD Associate Professional Membership
