January 2024
The law firm PwC Legal will leave the PwC Estonian network on January 31, 2024. The joint decision of the managers of PwC and PwC Legal to separate the law firm from the PwC network was due to a noticeable increase in the demand for litigation services, which, due to PwC's wide client base, exacerbated potential conflicts of interest with other areas of PwC Estonia. In order to avoid such risks, PwC will in the future focus on providing legal services on consulting that supports its main areas of activity, but will exit the disputes business and thereby also cease operations as a full-service law firm. The lawyers of PwC Legal will join the Estonian office of the law firm TGS Baltic.
Teet Tender, managing partner of PwC Estonia, commented: "This decision does not affect our core services - audit, consulting, transaction, tax, accounting and ESG services. Our relationship with the law firm continues to be very cordial and we wish them the best of luck.”
