20 September 2021 – PwC firms operating in the Caribbean have collectively donated US$50,000 to disaster relief and recovery efforts in Haiti after last month’s 7.2 magnitude earthquake.
The money was raised by the partners and employees of the PwC firms in The Bahamas, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, East Caribbean (Barbados and St. Lucia), Guyana, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. A cash donation has been made to the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA), a regional inter-governmental agency for disaster management in the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).
Frazer Lindsay, CEO of PricewaterhouseCoopers Caribbean Region Ltd., said: “PwC in the Caribbean stands with the people of Haiti who continue to suffer in the aftermath of this devastating earthquake, which took the lives of more than 2,000 people. We are pleased to make this donation to CDEMA to help with reconstruction and ongoing humanitarian aid efforts.”
