Tax Alert No. 4 [SEC Memorandum Circular No. 28-2020]

Extension of deadline for submission of email addresses and mobile phone numbers as per SEC Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 28 Series of 2020 

  • Under MC 28-2020, the Securities and Exchange Commission requires every corporation, association, partnership and person to submit a valid official electronic mail (e-mail) address and a valid cellular phone (CP) number and alternates thereof together with an Authorization or Certification of Authorization signed by the duly authorized representative;
  • The initial deadline set last 30 December 2020 has now been extended to 
    22 February 2021, without penalty;
  • New corporations, associations, and partnerships with certificates of registration issued after 23 January 2021 will be given 30 days from the issuance of the certificate to comply with SEC MC no. 28 s. 2020;
  • The scanned copy of the submission form shall be sent via email at MC28_S2020@sec.gov.ph and the hard copies (optional) may be submitted via appointment to ICTD-ERMD Receiving Unit or through courier services or PhilPost;
  • Beginning 23 February 2021, penalties shall be imposed for non-compliance.
