The increasing adoption of technology and automation in organisations has significantly enhanced their operational efficiency and effectiveness. This increased reliance on technology, however, also exposes organisations to a range of risks, including cybersecurity threats, data breaches, and system vulnerabilities, which must be proactively managed and mitigated.
To mitigate these risks, organisations must implement robust risk management strategies and invest in technology and cybersecurity measures to protect their assets and reputation.
Internal audit units should be ably equipped and positioned to provide assurance to management and the board that ITGCs and cybersecurity controls in place are designed adequately and are working effectively.
