PwC Estonia has conducted an analysis for the Estonian Rescue Board, focusing on fire safety and civil protection within apartment associations. The aim was to analyze the Rescue Board's advisory process on fire safety and civil protection for apartment associations (a voluntary and supportive service), identify current shortcomings, and offer recommendations for improvement to enhance the advisory service and ensure the safety of apartment associations.
Addressing this topic is extremely important, as apartment associations play a critical role in ensuring fire safety and civil protection. Over 900,000 people live in apartment buildings in Estonia, which means that apartment associations must comply with fire safety requirements, be prepared for various crises, and be able to communicate crisis-related information to residents.
The project gathered feedback and insights from the Rescue Board's units, centers, and departments to enhance the advisory process. Additionally, it incorporated suggestions and feedback from apartment association boards and managers. As a result, the redesigned advisory process aims to make the service more accessible and valuable for both advisors and the apartment associations they assist. The Rescue Board will continue to oversee the implementation of this improved process.
Pilleriin Kurg, an advisor at the Estonian Rescue Board, notes that the team from AS PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisors assisted the board in enhancing the advisory services offered to apartment associations. The collaboration was fruitful, highly constructive, and both warm and friendly.
The analysis was conducted by Triin Toimetaja, Sarah Francesca Kolts, Merilin Köörna, Karmen Limmer, Erki Mägi and Konstantin Jermošin from PwC Estonia.
