PwC partners with Corbin’s Catering to give back to community through the Salvation Army

Bridgetown, Barbados, 23 December 2017 – PwC partnership together with Corbin’s Catering donated a cheque in the amount of $1,000 to the Salvation Army on December 22, 2017, during the professional firm’s annual Christmas party.

Michael Bynoe, Territory Leader, PwC East Caribbean explained: “At PwC, we believe we have a responsibility to give back to the community. Our overall purpose is to build trust in society and solve important problems and now more than ever, many Barbadians need assistance, especially at this time of the year. We admire that the Salvation Army assesses those needs of each community in which they serve and work to understand the obstacles, hardships, and challenges native to the area's particular population. This aligns with our purpose and our core values, which include to care, to work together, and to make difference.

“The Salvation Army, like PwC, have been working for Barbados for well over 100 years and a donation like this goes a long way. We’re proud to be able to give to such an honourable and long-lasting organisation,” he added. “At PwC we believe in being 'part of it': part of the global conversation and movement towards responsible business practices that create positive change in the world.  In donating to such worthy causes, we can be part of the solution to challenges that face us and our communities.”

Ryan Corbin of Corbin’s Catering applauded the effort: “This is a great thing to do because they [Salvation Army] do great work, especially at this time of the year [when] they have their drive on and I support that. I obviously applaud PwC for the effort and the donation to the Salvation Army because it’s fantastic to give back.”

Major Darrell Wilkinson of the Salvation Army noted that “The Salvation Army is really honoured to be chosen at this time to receive the donation from PwC. We recognise that there are so many creditable organisations that are doing tremendous work and to be chosen at this time, we thank PwC of thinking of us.”
