The Estonian pharmacy group Magnum AS has closed the transaction to acquire the pharmaceutical wholesaler Medikona UAB and the retail pharmacy chain Apotheca Vaistinė UAB, where PwC Lithuania has provided the buy-side financial and tax due diligence and other transaction advisory services.
The PwC team included the following finance experts: Teet Tender, Rokas Žemaitis, Greta Dapšauskaitė, Aušra Almantė Ambrazaitė, Darius Rudnickas, Ieva Elija Jucevičiūtė the following tax professionals: Nerijus Nedzinskas, Ieva Rimkienė, Martynas Bagdonas and Gerda Bilskytė.
The transaction perimeter covered Medikona UAB, Apotheca Vaistinė UAB and four subsidiaries:
- Premeda Vaistinė UAB
- Jonavos Vaistinė UAB
- Smėlynės Vaistinė UAB
- Naujakiemio Vaistinė UAB
Apotheca Vaistinė UAB together with its subsidiaries control 49 pharmacy stores located close to healthcare facilities and placing focus on prescription drugs, thereby saving time of patients who need prescription drugs. Following the acquisition, Magnum AS will operate in total 62 stores across Lithuania under Apotheca pharmacy chain.
