The PwC Foundation steps in after a devastating hurricane

When a catastrophic hurricane made landfall in Fort Myers, Florida, a number of our PwCers were impacted and thrust into chaos. A PwC senior associate shared his story. His family, including his parents, grandparents and great aunt, who all lived in the house, were struggling to stay safe. Within minutes, water surged to waist level.

Thanks to the PwC Foundation's People Who Care Fund, which supports PwC employees facing emergency financial hardship, this PwC employee, along with others in the region, received crucial support that helped cover the cost of temporary housing while their home underwent repairs caused by the hurricane.

He shared, “The support from the PwC Foundation’s People Who Care Fund was truly a lifeline. Their compassion, understanding and quick action meant the world to us during such a difficult time.” The Foundation’s swift response embodies its commitment to supporting PwC employees in times of emergency hardship and building resilient communities.

Reimagine grants program surpasses $63 million in community investment

The PwC Foundation’s Reimagine grants program recently celebrated a major milestone. Since its launch in 2018, the program has invested over $63 million in 800+ nonprofit organizations across the United States. It’s also mobilized the involvement of 900+ PwC US partners and principals and hundreds of employees, reflecting PwCers' commitment to make a difference within their communities.

In the past year alone, Reimagine grants were projected to reach 500,000 individuals. These grants have contributed to driving meaningful outcomes, including improved academic achievement and enhanced college and career readiness.

A decade of purpose and a shared mission to support veterans

For over a decade, PwC and The PwC Foundation have worked alongside FourBlock to support veterans and military spouses as they take on one of life’s biggest transitions—moving from military service to civilian careers. What started as a single grant has grown into a sustained effort across 15 offices and over $4M in funding.

In that time, more than 250 PwCers have stepped up to share their time and skills—offering resume help, sharing career advice, and showing up as mentors during a critical chapter in veterans’ lives. Through these interactions, veterans build not just professional connections, but the human skills (e.g., communication, confidence) that can help them thrive in the civilian workplace. 15 PwC offices across the country have hosted FourBlock programs, creating spaces where service members feel seen, supported, and set up for success.

In recognition of this decade-long commitment, FourBlock honored both the firm and the Foundation with its Civilian Honor. Together, PwC, The PwC Foundation, and FourBlock are opening doors, helping veterans build meaningful futures.
