Country Senior Partner and Tax Leader, PwC Namibia
We have the honour of announcing the appointment of Ms. Chantell Husselmann as Country Senior Partner of PwC Namibia effective 1 July 2020. Chantell started her career in the Assurance department at PwC in 1999. Over the years, Chantell gained extensive experience in auditing and later on specialised in the field of taxation, where she was admitted as the Indirect Tax Partner of the firm in 2010. In 2018 Chantell was appointed as Tax Leader for PwC Namibia, responsible for the leadership and strategy execution in the firm’s Tax practice.
Chantell is a qualified Chartered Accountant (Nam)/(SA) and has completed a specialist Advanced Programme in Value - Added Tax with the University of South Africa (UNISA). Chantell is a former President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Namibia (ICAN), she is a former board member of the Public Accountants and Auditors Board (PAAB) and at present is a registered member at ICAN, SAICA and PAAB.
The past 8 years, Chantell has been the Lead Partner of the PwC Business School. In this capacity her passion on knowledge sharing and skills development shows in the growth and innovation of our Business School. Chantell is a keen course developer and presenter on a range of financial to tax training courses.
In her role as Indirect Tax partner, she acquired a broad range of experience in Indirect tax consulting across various industries with a specific focus on financial services, telecommunications, retail, agriculture, medical services and the mining sector. To be specific, she is actively involved with the tax clearance of audit clients, formulating written tax opinions, performing Tax Reviews, unpacking the Namibia National budget and consulting on complex indirect tax matters to name a few.
As Tax Leader, Chantell has successfully led one of Namibia’s largest tax practices over the past 3 years, adapting to technological changes and overcoming many challenges.
In ensuring a smooth leadership transition, Chantell has closely worked with the outgoing country senior partner Ms. Nangula Uaandja. We are fortunate to have Chantell taking over the reigns at PwC Namibia, as she comes with many years of experience both as an auditor and as a tax expert. We are confident that with Chantell at the helm, the firm will continue to build trust and solve important problems in the Namibian business community.
