How we transformed the way we work

To ensure our audit continued to meet and exceed expectations, we decided to reimagine the process in two ways. First, we collaborated with the PwC network to build in more automation into our audit approach. With our Review Bot tool we can now automate a significant part of our team’s repetitive work on review engagements. While the bot is working in the background, our people have time to focus more on value added aspects for our clients. We have also upskilled our people to help them leverage the Review Bot in a more dynamic way. For example, the Review Bot prepares PDFs that resemble all the questions in the review working papers, so the client can answer the questions directly in the PDF. The robot documents the clients’ responses and prepares the completed working papers.

Our team now offers the best of both worlds, combining professional judgement with  digital skills. From risk assessment to critical audit matters, we’ve navigated complex audit processes with human-led technology, helping our clients to continue to meet the ever increasing demands of the markets they operate in.

Audit and human-led technology

To face digital disruption, we need confidence in the technologies we use, as much as we do in the people who harness them. Our human-led technology approach to audits helps us deliver more sustained outcomes to our clients and supports them in building trust in society.

During a half-year review we were using the review bot to process a client's files, in this case a real estate company. Compared with previous years, the task took significantly fewer hours, and the bot did its work within minutes, even for multiple audit units. Feedback shows that the client experience has improved significantly – this tool proves to our clients that we are a real technology-enabled firm.
