Approval of the laws on compulsory health insurance funds and state social security for 2017
The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova recently approved the Law on compulsory health insurance funds for 2017 (“Law on CHIF 2017”) and the Law on the state social security budget for 2017 (“Law on SSSB 2017”). Law no. 489-XIV, dated 8 July 1999, on public social security system and Law no. 289-XV, dated 22 July 2004, on sick leave allowances and other social security benefits have also been amended.

Tax regime for IT park residents
The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova recently approved the amendments and supplements to the Tax Code, Law no. 1585 dated 27 February 1998 on compulsory health insurance ("Law 1585"), Law no. 1593 dated 26 December 2002 on the amount, manner and terms of payment of compulsory health insurance contributions ("Law 1593"), Law no. 489 dated 8 July 1999 on the public social security system ("Law 489"), Law no. 289 dated 22 July 2004 on sick leave allowances and other social security benefits ("Law 289").
The amendments are aimed at bringing these legislative acts in line with the provisions of Law no. 77 dated 21 April 2016 on information technology parks and providing a functional mechanism for the application of single tax due by the residents of such parks ("IT parks").

Amendments to the Labour Code
The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova recently approved amendments and supplements to the Labour Code, covering rules on temporary labour interruption, technical unemployment (labour interruption due to technical reasons), guarantees and compensation granted to employees who combine work with studies, termination allowance, etc.

Amendments to the Labour Code
The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova recently approved amendments and supplements to the Labour Code, in accordance with the provisions of Directives 97/81/EC, 2001/23/EC, 2002/14/EC and 92/85/EEC.

Approval of the unified tax return for payroll taxes
The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Moldova recently approved the Tax return on withholding tax, health insurance contributions and calculated social security contributions (Form IPC18), as well as the instructions for its filing.
