Quantum computers have long stopped being merely a topic of research. In recent years, industry and politics have paid ever-closer attention to this ground-breaking technology. Leading technology companies, research institutions and startups are investing billions in this disruptive technology. The new computing generation is based on the laws of quantum mechanics and far surpasses conventional supercomputers in many application areas. The very first use cases can be tested on simulators and quantum computers thanks to cloud-based access.
Advances in cloud infrastructure, high-performance computing (HPC), and quantum computing (QC) are transforming how we approach complex problems across industries. PwC and AWS partnered to develop solutions in advanced computing, optimizing cloud processes and accelerating research in quantum computing, bridging the gap between academia and industry. Together with AWS, PwC is positioned at the forefront of scientific and industrial innovation, addressing critical challenges and unlocking solutions for the future in machine learning, optimization, and simulation.

Research and Academic Collaborations: PwC is actively involved in a quantum computing research and development project funded by the nextgenerationEU european program and managed by Politecnico di Milano. This project brings together experts across disciplines to develop advanced solutions in complex industrial processes. Through collaboration and synergies with universities and companies, PwC wants to build an integrated ecosystem that promotes high-tech innovation for the industry.
The PwC QC team has been hosted by AWS at the International Supercomputing Conference 2024 (SC24) in Atlanta. This event gathered industry leaders, researchers, and developers, providing PwC the opportunity to showcase its vision and achievements on quantum computing applied to real use cases. This was a nice occasion to foster exchange of ideas and open doors for global collaborations.
