Video Interview

Playback of this video is not currently available

This is a unique opportunity to bring your application to life and stand out from a pile of CVs. A video will represent you much better than a paper cover letter attached to your CV. For specific job positions video questions can be used for checking your motivation, specific technical skills or for example language skills. You can choose the time and place, and you can arrange to respond to questions at your own convenience.

What to expect?

Once you have taken and passed the online tests:

  1. You will receive an email invitation to our video interview portal.
  2. You will then have a few days to complete the video interview. It is fully mobile-adapted and there is an app for both iOS and Android devices.
  3. While you are preparing, check your set-up and practice your answers to gain more confidence.
  4. Our recruiter will ask you a few questions in a short video. With each question, you will have time to prepare your answers. Once you start answering, you will need to complete it within the time assigned to the question.
  5. We will not be there on the other side of the camera in real time, but we will watch your responses once your session is completed.
  6. We will then follow up with you about the next steps.

Hints and tips

Preparing for your video session

Do your research and learn about PwC
, specifically about the job and business area to which you are applying.

Be sure about how you want to present yourself and how you are going to make a positive first impression.

Practice, especially if you have never answered video questions before. Try recording yourself answering some questions. If you feel nervous, invite someone who knows you well to give feedback and suggestions on how to sound more natural. You will also have an opportunity to try out some practice questions in the system. However, these are not the real questions, and your answers to these questions will not be seen by us.

Check your internet connection and camera, as you will need a stable Internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone (e.g. a computer, laptop, tablet or mobile phone).

Choose a nice and comfortable environment and make sure to check your lighting and background. Avoid having sources of bright light behind you, as this makes it hard for us to see your face.

Log into the system early and run the set-up for the HireVue system, which will check your camera, connection and microphone, as well as let you know if there is a problem with anything. Once it runs the set-up, you will receive confirmation of its success. You can then close your browser and come back later once you are ready for your interview.

Tips for a successful video interview

  • Dress code: Business casual is fine but if in doubt, have a look at the people in the “Careers” section of the PwC website.
  • Minimise distractions: Turn off your mobile phone if it is not the device you are using for recording and turn off anything else that might distract you, as this will be captured when you are recording your response.
  • Speak clearly: Express yourself clearly and concisely.
  • Be specific: Remember that the amount of time you have is limited.
  • Consider your presentation: Your body language will say a lot more about you than you expect.
  • Smile: This will help you to relax and better engage with us. It may seem odd talking to a computer, so imagine you are talking to someone you know well and try to be as natural as possible.

Remember, we just want to get to know you better!
