Tax Lead Partner, PwC Mozambique

Patrícia Quirino is a Partner of the Tax team at PwC Mozambique, responsible for leading both the Tax and the Legal/Regulatory practices of the firm in Mozambique.

With a vast international academic curriculum, Patrícia has a Law Degree from the Universidade Eduardo Mondlane, in Mozambique. She has several specializations in International Tax and Oil & Gas, holding the Advance Professional Certificate in International Taxation by the IBFD, in Amsterdam. She concluded with distinction an LL.M in Oil and Gas through the University of Aberdeen, in Scotland.

With over 25 years of experience in both Tax and Legal roles, Patrícia has worked in several jurisdictions in Africa and specialized as an expert in Mozambique Oil & Gas tax and legal framework. She also has significant experience in exchange control advice and compliance, particularly in relation to regulatory and transactional advice. In addition to Mozambique, she has worked with other African jurisdictions, such as South Africa, Gabon, Liberia and Ghana, among others.

Currently, she is responsible for the sole management of the Tax practices for PwC Mozambique, focusing on: Advisory; Compliance; Tax M&A and Deals; Tax restructuring; Tax Litigation and Controversy; Transfer Pricing; International transactions and Tax treaties; Exchange Control advisory and Compliance; Labour and Immigration; Incorporation, Dissolution and Liquidation of companies; Legal M&A; Government licensing of operations, among others.

Her duties also include leading all engagement with clients from all major sectors operating in Mozambique (Oil & Gas, Energy, Renewables, Banking and Insurance, Industry, Agriculture, Tourism, etc.), and with the Government, leading engagement with relevant Government stakeholders on behalf of clients (Ministry of Finance, Tax Authority, Bank of Mozambique, etc.).
