The gaming industry is at an inflection point. Its traditional patrons are aging and its new patrons - the Millennials - are not as interested in many of the established casino games. New games, including games of skill, daily fantasy sports, and eSports, are emerging and casinos are taking notice. At the same time, state legislatures and regulators are seeing the value that casinos and gaming can bring to a state and we have entered one of the most permissive regulatory eras in the history of the industry. In order for casinos to survive and thrive in this environment, they will have to establish new strategies for serving these younger patrons, increase the connectivity between their regulatory and strategy business functions, and modify their operating models and business processes to deliver against their vision. This release discusses the opportunities and considerations for the casino industry in this volatile and dynamic time.
