What defenses are in place to detect and minimize damage to an organization when an attack occurs?

At a recent Air Transport IT Summit, experts agreed that “it’s not about if you’re going to be hacked, it’s when.” And when the inevitable occurs, it’s critical for an airline to have defenses in place that can minimize damage to the organization.

In this edition of Aviation Perspectives, which follows part one (Introduction) and part two (Prevention) of our special cybersecurity series, we address the topic of detection. While prevention is the best defense, not all attacks can be prevented. Early detection, along with a clearly defined set of operational processes to quickly address an attack, is vital to reducing the consequences.
