Maarten Maaskant is an international tax partner based in New York and part of the Washington National Tax Services team. Before he joined the US firm in June 2016, Maarten was a partner with our Dutch Firm since 2005 and moved to New York in 2012 where he led the Dutch Tax Desk.
Maarten is a member of the national Integrated Global Structuring (IGS) team, where he is a subject matter specialist for BEPS/OECD developments, EU direct tax matters, transparency, taxation of the digital economy and the Multilateral Instrument. He has deep knowledge regarding tax developments in many jurisdictions. Maarten is a key advisor regarding European State Aid and a member of our global State Aid Working Group (SAWG). He is also a member of PwC’s Multilateral Instrument and DAC6 expert groups.
Maarten is also the leader of our International Tax Desk program in New York which is comprised of over 50 experienced tax professionals from Europe, Latax, Asia and Africa. Maarten is also an editor of Bloomberg's Tax Treaty Analysis. He speaks frequently at national and international conferences.
