Vice Chair and US Managing Partner, PwC US
Jim Flanagan is currently the US Managing Partner & Vice Chair for PwC. Prior to assuming the US Managing Partner role, Jim was most recently Vice Chair, Client Service, for markets in the East Region of the United States. In that role, he was responsible for the development of committed relationships between clients and the firm across a broad range of assurance, tax, and advisory services. In addition, Jim previously led the US Financial Services practice and prior to that the US Transaction Services practice.
Jim possesses over 37 years of client service and PwC leadership experience. His experience includes 16 years in PwC’s Transaction Services (M&A/Deals business) having been involved with the practice since its inception in 1989. Jim led the Transaction Services business for 5 years until becoming the leader for the US Financial Services practice in 2006 where he oversaw the Banking & Capital Markets, Insurance and Asset Management sectors. As US Financial Services leader, he was also actively involved with the PwC global financial services leadership as well as the US firm's assurance leadership team. Jim was appointed as East Region Vice Chair in 2014.
Jim is a certified public accountant in New York and Ohio, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts. Jim serves on the Board of The Ronald McDonald House of New York and has been actively involved in Junior Achievement for many years. He graduated from Long Island University with a major in Accounting and has attended the Leadership in Professional Services Firms Program at Harvard as well as the Understanding Clients Strategic Agenda program at INSEAD.
