Partner, PwC US
Gareth is a UK PwC partner currently on secondment to our New York office. He leads a specialist UK tax team and links our US firm and clients to the rest of the UK PwC firm. Gareth has spent time in New York before (in 2009-10) and is now here for three years (2017-2020). He is otherwise based in London.
An M&A tax partner by background, Gareth has 14 years international deals experience. He worked primarily on private equity transactions, both buyside and sellside across a wide variety of sectors but also has experience of large corporate M&A, restructurings and mergers. Gareth is a senior member of the PwC UK's international tax structuring network and has chaired a number of recent client debates on the impact of BEPS and tax reform.
Gareth's experience is predominantly with US parented groups or alternative investment funds investing into UK and across Europe so he has a strong understanding of the commercial and tax drivers for these clients. He was the tax relationship lead in the UK for a top tier US owned private equity fund for a number of years.
Gareth holds an Accounting and Law degree from the University of Leeds (BA) and is a Chartered Accountant for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
