Christian is a Director on our Belgian tax desk in New York and has been assigned from the Corporate Income Tax Consulting group in PwC Belgium. He worked for 6 years in the M&A Tax department and assisted various multinational groups with their international tax affairs. Prior to him joining PwC in 2011, he was admitted to the Belgian bar practicing as a tax lawyer in an international law firm.
Consequently, Christian has over 9 years of experience in advising both Belgian and multinational companies, private equity funds, real estate companies, etc. across a number of sectors on a broad range of tax and related matters. Apart from an in-depth knowledge of the Belgian corporate income tax regime, he has significant experience in assisting companies when acquiring companies inside and outside Belgium, ranging from due diligence assistance, acquisition structuring and SPA assistance to post-acquisition integration. He has particular knowledge of European restructuring tax legislation and has assisted various clients in corporate simplification exercises, both within Belgium as cross-border.
Christian has an in-depth understanding of the recent changes in the international tax environment such as BEPS and ATAD I&II.
He also advises on a daily basis on general Belgian and international tax rules. Besides this, he also often coordinates the international tax aspects of worldwide and European projects for his clients.
Christian holds a Master degree in Law and Specialized Master degree in Tax Law from the University of Gent and a Postgraduate degree in Corporate Finance from the University of Leuven in Belgium. He is also in the process of being admitted to the Belgian Institute of Certified Tax Consultants (IAB/IEC).
