The COSO Internal Control-Integrated Framework (“Framework”) is the foundation and standard for internal control within most organizations. Companies have adopted the original framework to create associated internal control policies, procedures, and activities. A new version of the framework was released in May 2013 and COSO will supersede the original 1992 Framework as of December 15, 2014. Now is the time to start evaluating the impact of the new framework on your business. GRC solutions can be especially useful in the transition to the updated framework by documenting, assessing and improving internal controls.

This webcast will provide an overview of the new framework and an understanding of how GRC may be used to meet the organization’s internal control objectives. We will step through the components and principles of COSO and discuss how GRC will support and improve alignment to them. The components covered will include the control environment, risk assessment, control activities, information and communication and monitoring. Select approaches and examples will be highlighted to demonstrate how GRC can help facilitate an understanding of the control environment. We will provide real world examples that can potentially be adopted by attendees.

The implementation of GRC is the opportune time for companies to perform a holistic assessment of their internal control framework, identify gaps, and further enhance their internal control system. This webcast will help attendees in this assessment and alignment process.
