Companies with the most effective human capital management recognised at the Leading HR Organisation 2017 awards

20/10/17

Bratislava, 20 October 2017 - PwC announced the winners of the sixth Leading HR Organisation competition, which rewards firms with the most effective HR management and best staff management practice in Slovakia.

The competition is based on PwC Slovakia’s annual HR controlling study.

“The uniqueness of our study lies in linking key company HR and financial indicators and mapping this linkage and impact. In this way, we are able to assess the effectiveness of HR management as regards investment in human capital and its impact on a company’s overall results”

Ľudmila Guerin, PwC’s Leader of HR Services

The study analyses almost 100 HR indicators which are directly or indirectly linked to the performance of a company as a whole. It maps all areas of HR management. The most frequently monitored and benchmarked areas include: remuneration, recruitment, training, education and staff development, fluctuation and absenteeism.

This study and its results serve as a strategic tool enabling companies to benchmark their position in the industry and monitor their development over time. Due to the stability of indicators and the well-established methodology, this study and the benchmarking of annual results provides companies with a picture of their development, and enables them to assess the effectiveness of measures and plan investments and future measures.

Every HR department collects a large amount of data. However, in Slovakia, deeper data analysis is mostly only performed by medium-sized, large and global companies. Analysing data, synergies and inter-relations over time can provide HR specialists with unique opportunities to confirm their hypotheses and, in cooperation with management, create appropriate solutions for the future.

For small companies, the study provides an opportunity to be inspired by successful companies and plan their direction. To start with, it is sufficient for them to choose a few basic indicators and then start collecting and analysing data.

This year, the awards for the leading HR organisation in 2017 went to the following companies:

  • Československá obchodná banka, a.s. – Banking
  • Allianz – Slovenská poisťovňa, a.s. – Insurance
  • Stredoslovenská energetika, a.s. – Energy
  • Volkswagen Slovakia s.r.o. – Automotive industry
  • Atos IT Solutions and Services, s.r.o. – Information technology
  • Slovenské cukrovary, s.r.o. – Manufacturing

“We are pleased to see that some companies have retained their position a number of times. We are also pleased that we have new winners in some sectors. Prizes are awarded to HR representatives for their work, responsibility, effort, commitment and strategy. All of them have contributed to the development of their own company and also to the market as a whole,”

Ľudmila Guerin, PwC’s Leader of HR Services
