Why SSC?

PwC SSC combines the advantages of a financial service centre with the unique environment of the world’s largest network of professional services firms

The first department of the centre was established in 2008 with five employees, and the scope of services provided gradually expanded, most significantly in 2013. Today, the SSC has more than 190 employees and is currently undergoing a major transformation, continuously growing its footprint and expanding both its financial and its non‑financial teams. Work at the SSC is specific and differs from other PwC departments. It brings together the benefits of a shared services environment with the unique setting of a global advisory network.

Comprehensive coverage of financial processes

PwC SSC primarily provides services in the area of financial processes for the finance departments of PwC firms across multiple countries. For selected legal entities, the SSC also ensures full‑scope accounting for management and statutory purposes, as well as reporting and budgeting.

Individual teams oversee specific accounting processes for multiple countries based on agreed procedures. They communicate with colleagues in local finance departments and are responsible for the timely and accurate processing of provided documentation. PwC SSC is also involved in regional and global projects, particularly in process standardisation, optimisation, and information system implementation.

English is the primary communication language. The local languages of serviced countries are an advantage, but not a requirement. Many processes follow periodic, monthly accounting cycles across countries with fixed reporting deadlines.

A friendly and supportive atmosphere

PwC SSC primarily provides services in the area of financial processes, mainly for the finance departments of local offices in individual countries. In addition, for selected legal entities, it also delivers comprehensive accounting services for management and statutory purposes, including reporting and budgeting.

The SSC team is young and offers excellent opportunities for individuals with limited experience from other shared service centres or finance departments, as well as for graduates, who start in junior specialist roles and can become senior specialists and team leaders. PwC SSC also provides opportunities for experienced professionals seeking a stable and high‑quality international work environment, and for individuals returning to the job market—for example, mothers after parental leave, and candidates with international work experience returning to Slovakia.

The advantages of a small team

The smaller teams at the PwC financial service centre allow for more personal communication. Teams are compact, roles are broader in scope, and the company culture is friendly and open. PwC places strong emphasis on the career development of each employee, with regular performance evaluations and a highly individual approach that respects personal needs and preferences.
