Personality requirements and skills

  • University degree (Major in economics/finance is your advantage, but not a condition)
  • 2-4 years experience in corporate finance/audit/controlling/business analysis
  • Hard-working person with strong analytical skills
  • Team player with positive attitude

  • Fluency in Slovak and active knowledge of English (spoken and written)

Experienced Senior Actuary

We are looking for an Experienced Senior Actuary to join our team within PwC Assurance practice. Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Analysis, recalculation and review of insurance provisions within Audit team
  • Preparing and developing actuarial valuation models for various purposes (IFRS 17, SII, CF modeling)
  • Implementation of new IFRS 17 standards within CEE region using also our global PwC IFRS 17 software solution (In a Box)
  • Working closely with IT professionals to develop various different solutions to satisfy our client’s requirements

Actuary Manager

A career in our Actuarial Services will provide you with the opportunity to contribute general insurance, actuarial advice and consulting services to clients such as insurers, banks, regulators, and third party administrators.

You’ll provide advice covering new IFRS 17 standard, solvency II, economic capital, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, company restructuring and risk control, financial and cash flows modelling, underwriting, new legislation, and the efficiency of claims or reporting processes.

Simply put, you might help analyse the impact that new regulation will have on an insurance companies you could be reviewing businesses’ projections and making sure they have adequate reserves and generally solve the important, mainly actuarial problems for our clients.

Our team helps insurers address new financial reporting requirements by assessing the financial and business impacts of regulations, building implementation plans, and implementing relevant requirements with focus on actuarial tasks.

As a Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution.


Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Directors and above
  • Be involved in the financial management of clients
  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients
  • Develop project strategies to solve complex technical and actuarial challenges for our clients
  • Manage and deliver large projects by developing the project team, assessing engagement risks throughout, driving conclusions, and reviewing / challenging the output produced by the team
  • Shape and deliver projects to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients and our own quality criteria
  • Train, coach, and supervise team members
  • Continue to develop internal relationships and developing our PwC brand

Senior Business Consultant

In our practice, we focus on providing our clients with solutions that help them cope with challenges of the fast-pacing business environment. As a member of our business transformation consulting team, you’ll collaborate on challenging projects alongside team members of business, financial and IT backgrounds, increasing your understanding of complex business problems from diverse perspectives and developing new skills and experience.

The type of projects we participate in range from improvement of product profitability tracking, analysis of potential of future savings to the analysis of processes, development of the operating model or implementation of digital tools. Our clients come from manufacturing, energy or utilities to the financial services or public sector.

How your day will look like:

There is no typical day in consulting. As a senior consultant your responsibilities will include a wide variety of tasks, from quantitative or qualitative data gathering, processing and analysis to their presentation. On any given project, you might be asked to build a business case to evaluate an opportunity, analyze company’s costs to identify potential savings, evaluate the client’s current financial performance, prepare a presentation to demonstrate solutions to our client, gather and review supporting data or perform research to gain external market perspectives.

You’ll be expected to take responsibility for supervising and coordination of more junior colleagues and communication with the client.


What do we expect from you:

  • You are curious, flexible and have a thirst for knowledge, bringing a fresh perspective in what you do
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • You have basic understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
  • You are reliable and willing to take on responsibility and you excel at following through and getting things done
  • You are not afraid to take initiative and demonstrate strong ownership of your work
  • You are proficient in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint (nice to have).
  • You have excellent written and communication skills in Slovak and English.

Nice to have:

  • A first relevant experience in the assurance or consulting practice of a professional services firm, or at a controlling position
