Established in 2019, The PwC Singapore Foundation is a step forward in our Corporate Responsibility journey. Giving back to the community is an integral part of our PwC Values and Purpose – building trust in society and solving important problems.
The PwC Singapore Foundation’s mission is to increase our firm’s reach and social impact. The PwC Singapore Foundation’s financial support is strongly aligned with our firm’s general and skills-based volunteering efforts to ensure we create the most significant change within our communities.
In 2020, our community response to the COVID-19 crisis was focused on supporting vulnerable groups affected by food insecurity. Our contributions of over S$95,000 helped to fund the procuring and delivery of essential food supplies to over 12,500 beneficiaries reliant on charity meal support. With the pandemic outbreak disproportionately affecting disadvantaged communities, PwC Singapore is committed to supporting them in the uncertainties they face.
The PwC Singapore Foundation targets to:
Jobs are changing, driven by the impact of breakthrough technologies, ranging from artificial intelligence, robotics to augmented reality and blockchain. What and how we learn needs to transform. Through our investment in education and skills building – from financial literacy to digital skills and mentoring – we participate in building future-ready communities.
We believe in the need to focus on improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities, supporting caregivers, and building an inclusive society.
The proportion of residents aged above 65 has increased from 8.7% in 2008 to 13.7% in 2018. By 2030, the number of seniors (aged above 65) will double to over 900,000. We think it is key to support programmes for the ageing population and ensure all citizens can age healthily and purposefully.
