Voon Hoe leads the Accounting Advisory practice in PwC Singapore and currently driving all the accounting and financial reporting advisory in Singapore with focus on implementation of the new accounting standards such as IFRS 9: Financial Instruments, IFRS 15: Revenue from contracts with customers and IFRS 16: Leases. He has over 20 years of experience in investment banking, treasury, financial advisory and regulatory compliance.
Voon Hoe is currently a member of PwC’s IFRS 9 Global working group, Global Banking Industry Accounting Group and Global Accounting Consulting Services Group. He is also the chair of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountant’s IFRS 9 working group. He is a regular speaker at regional conferences and public seminars on accounting standards, update on the new developments of IASB and conducts various IFRS related courses for local and multinational companies and the regulators in the region. He also participated as a speaker at the ISCA held seminar on Financial Statements Review Commission Findings attended by approximately 200 participants.
Over the years, Voon Hoe has advised a number of global banking and insurance institutions across Asia as they transitioned to new bases of accounting and embedded complex accounting solutions. He has supported clients in the structuring and valuation of hybrid products and derivatives, review and development of hedging strategies, loan loss provisioning and implementation of accounting treasury systems, controls and processes. He has also advised clients on a broad range of finance reporting challenges pursuant to a number of reporting frameworks - IFRS, US GAAP, public sector accounting, integrated reporting and various local GAAPs across Asia. Furthermore, he has worked on a number of complex billion dollar capital raising and mergers and acquisitions transactions providing finance, structuring, valuation and due diligence advice across the deal cycle.
Voon Hoe has worked across a wide range of global clients providing advisory services including Hong Kong Shanghai Banking Corporation, Citibank, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, ING, Kasikorn Bank, Mizuho Financial Group, The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Calyon, Temasek Holdings, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Credit Industriel Et Commercial, State Street Bank and Trust Company, Development Bank of Singapore and Overseas Chinese Banking Corporation.
