Paul has more than 20 years of corporate and international tax experience. He started his Tax career with PriceWaterhouse in London before moving to Melbourne in the late 1980’s. He left the firm in 1993 to work in the oil industry then rejoined PwC Singapore as a Tax Partner in 2003.
He has provided tax advisory and planning services to multi-national corporations in the United Kingdom, Australia and Singapore. In recent years, he was in charge of the Taxation Department at ExxonMobil Australia Pty Ltd and prior to that at BP Australia Pty Ltd. His work included improving the efficiency and effectiveness of regional tax functions, reviewing and improving controls as well as implementing risk management and tax reporting policies and procedures. He has significant experience in managing the tax affairs of businesses in South East Asia and Asia Pacific. He has worked extensively on due diligence, planning and implementing corporate restructures, mergers, acquisitions and divestments in the region. He specialises in local and international tax structuring and his clients include Singaporean and foreign multi-national companies in the energy, utilities, communications, logistics, technology and industrial products sectors.
Paul graduated from Leeds University with BA (Hons). He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Prior to his move to Singapore, Paul was the Vice President of the Corporate Tax Association of Australia and had represented companies on several industry committees in Australia. He is a regular speaker at conferences and workshops in the region.
