The journey of Rossana S. Javier into professional distinction started when she graduated from a prestigious university in the Philippines and became a Certified Public Accountant. Many years and certifications later, Rose, as she is fondly called, finds herself as the Managing Partner of PwC Consulting (Philippines), Inc., a member firm of a joint venture between the PwC consulting practices in Southeast Asia, New Zealand, Australia and the United States. At the pinnacle of her career, Rose is now one of the leaders of a strong consulting practice in a fast growing region in the world.
Rose graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a degree in Commerce, which she later supplemented with a Masters in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines. She went on to take courses from Melbourne Business School in Australia, the University of Western Ontario in Canada, and Harvard University in the US.
Rose excelled in and outside of the workplace. She had worked in two other firms before moving to PwC, her second home for the last 20 years. While in PwC, she enriched her skills by taking on different challenges. Rose worked and trained in various lines of services as part of the Audit team, Global Risk Management Solutions, Transaction Services, Advisory, and Consulting.
Wherever Rose was assigned, she made a commitment to grow the practice there. She earned several certifications and strengthened her credentials. On top of being a CPA, she is also a Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Control Self-Assessment Specialist, Certified Risk Management Assurance Specialist and Certified Fraud Examiner.
Rose places greater importance on family. A family-oriented person, she spends her weekends at home. Every year, Rose and family travel overseas, while New Year holidays are spent visiting local tourist spots and just chilling out at home.
Rose is committed to her farm, where she raises organic “free range” chickens and ducks, as well as grows bananas, corn, lanzones and dragon fruits, among others. She believes that growing your own food, which is clean and free of chemicals, is beneficial to health. She sells her products to people who want to eat chemical-free food. Rose’s brother, a zoologist before he became a surgeon, also owns a farm in Lipa. Upon retirement, Rose plans to pursue her altruistic goals. She says, “God has been generous to me, it is now time to pay back”.
Rose looks forward to seeing PwC Consulting (Philippines), Inc. become a bigger and stronger practice that is able to create a lasting impact. She is happy for the younger staff who have joined PwC Consulting at a very exciting time, where there are more opportunities for them in a regional practice. Rose is nearing the culmination of her career, but she is happy to have been instrumental in shaping the future of the consulting practice in the Philippines and in the Southeast Asia region.
