In collaboration with PwC's Asia Pacific ESG Centre of Excellence, PwC Philippines conducted a workshop entitled “Developing an ESG Strategy: A Company Roadmap” on 27 July via Google Meet for publicly listed companies in the country.

PwC Asia Pacific Climate Change Leader Lit Ping Low gave her insights on net zero commitment trends and pathways.

PwC Asia Pacific Sustainability & Climate Change Strategy and Transformation Leader and PwC Malaysia Consulting Leader Andrew Chan imparted his knowledge on how companies can develop an ESG response.

PwC Philippines Chairman Emeritus and ESG Leader Alex Cabrera opened the workshop to talk about enhancing value through ESG. He illustrated this with not only how PwC does it, but with how other companies have been doing it.

Deals and Corporate Finance Managing Partner Mary Jade Roxas-Divinagracia discussed why ESG matters for corporations in the Philippines.

The Sustainability Strategy Development Workshop facilitators were Deals and Corporate Finance and ESG Partner Catherine “Kate” Lipana-Gomez and Deals and Corporate Finance Senior Associate Gabriel Magno.

Chairman and Senior Partner Rick Danao summed up the event in his closing remarks: “We have the power, as sustainability champions, to reinvent the future but we need to act now rather than later. Mere words are not enough, and sustainability must be at the heart of business strategies.”

Deals and Corporate Finance Managing Director Raoul Villegas shared the workshop participants’ comments and key takeaways, moderated the Q&A and was the master of ceremonies.
