The Japanese Business Development (JBD) Department conducted its first seminar for 2018 at the Learning Room (PwC Philippines, 29F Philamlife Tower, Makati City). The two-part event was held 14 and 27 February 2018.
JBD Director Kentaro Tojo and JBD Manager Toshiya Hayashida were the main speakers of the seminar, which aimed to give Japanese companies a better understanding of the recently implemented comprehensive tax reform program (CTRP).
Tax Managing Partner Malou Lim, one of our firm's leading CTRP resource persons, delivered the opening remarks during the first leg of the seminar.
Toshi discussed the main contents of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (or TRAIN, the first package of the CTRP), and related revenue regulations. Ken then talked about the practical impact of the TRAIN law on tax compliance.
