On 27 February 2015, PwC hosted its second global webcast on women and leadership as part of 'Aspire to Lead: The PwC Women's Leadership Series'. The live webcast featured distinguished women who shared their experiences on building confidence: Confidence Code Authors Katty Kay and Claire Shipman and Google UK-Ireland Managing Director Eileen Naughton. Facilitating the panel was PwC Global and US Talent Leader Mike Fenlon.
In celebration of International Women's Day, Human Capital launched 'Aspire to Lead' in the office last 9 March. The event was attended by staff members from various groups. Assurance Partner Emy Castro, the firm's HC and Diversity & Inclusion Leader, opened the event. Participants watched a recording of the 'Aspire to Lead' webcast followed by a workshop on Closing the Confidence Gap, facilitated by HC Director Pam Gregorio. Chairman and Senior Partner Alex Cabrera and Assurance partners Gina Detera, Aldie Garcia, and Jan Michael Reyes shared their personal experiences and insights on becoming confident.
Sharing the message to a broader audience, the HC group ran Aspire to Lead workshops for students of different schools and universities.
The first run took place at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines - Sta. Mesa on 11 March. The event was attended by 184 fourth year Accountancy students. The facilitating HC team, Pam Gregorio, Geri Gaffud and Ron Melendres, included in the Confidence workshop a module on preparing for work. Emy Castro led the open forum, and was joined by Assurance associate Romel de Vivar, Consulting associate Don Reyes and the HC team.
On 17 March, the Closing the Confidence Gap and Communicating with Confidence module of 'Aspire to Lead' was facilitated for De La Salle University - Manila students working as interns in the firm. A total of 23 interns participated.
On 24 March, the Closing the Confidence Gap and Communicating with Confidence workshop was facilitated at the De La Salle University – Manila campus with 86 Accountancy students in attendance. Assurance Director Pocholo Domondon, Assurance Manager Irene Santiago, and Deals & Corporate Finance Manager Trissy Rogacion, who are all DLSU alumni, shared their experiences and thoughts on becoming more confident as professionals.
The most recent run of the Communicating with Confidence workshop was at the Cesar E.A. Virata School of Business, University of the Philippines – Diliman, last 27. It was a full house, with 80 students preparing for internship, in attendance.
