Recognizing the role of education in enriching the lives of the Filipinos, the consulting team, led by its Principal Benjamin Azada and Manager Bryan King Kay, organized a Career Planning and Financial Management Seminar in cooperation with Stairway Foundation Inc. (SFI) at Barangay Aninuan, Puerto Galera for their Tourism with a Purpose activity last 6 May 2016. The facilitators were composed of professionals from the consulting team, who shared their expertise and experiences.
The seminar, which gathered 50 SFI scholars from grades 11 and up, aimed to ease the transition of students from high school to their selected professional and vocational courses through discussions on the following topics:
Manager Bryan King Kay opens the seminar with an introduction about PwC and the functions of a consultant.
According to SFI, this is the first time that outsiders conducted a seminar for their beneficiaries as most trainings were conducted by in-house experts. The students participated actively during the discussions and engaged well with their facilitators during the group sharing and activities.
The seminar ended with discussions on financial planning and management.
SFI is a private non-profit organization primarily catering to the marginalized and endangered street children in the Philippines. Part of their initiatives to empower the youth is to provide scholarship grants to selected bright students in Puerto Galera.
