Cholo expands the firm’s industry expertise in performing assurance services of separate and consolidated financial statements of locally listed entities and multinational companies from a wide range of industries with focus on the extractive sector encompassing oil/gas (exploration and production) and mining, utilities (power generation) and engineering/ construction based on, among others, local, international and US generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP).

Cholo has likewise conducted other general accounting and audit related engagements, including review of internal control policies and procedures as required by local and international auditing standards, executed Sarbane Oxley procedures with respect to multi location audits of US listed entities, quarterly reviews and agreed-upon procedures, and likewise participated in IPO projects. He has served as a resource person on advisory projects, including due diligence and the issuance of fairness opinions, speaker at forums sponsored by key agencies such as the SEC, DOF and PSE, and contributor in PwC mining publications.

As project manager, he has actively been involved in identifying the appropriate design of the audit plan, particularly on the suitable nature, timing and extent of audit procedures given the level of inherent business and audit risk. He also manages engagement objectives through adequate staffing requirements and preparation and monitoring of budget. Cholo determines the level of participation of other experts including tax, IT audit and valuation specialists who will assist in ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, proper measurement of identified account balances, reasonableness of projections and stability of accounting systems.

Cholo graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy at De La Salle University, Manila. A Certified Public Accountant, he is a member of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
