A notice dated 8 September 2020 under hand of the Customs Commissioner and Excise was circulated to Customs stakeholders and clearing agents. The notice serves as a reminder of the customs/excise duties on denatured ethyl alcohol and the registration of importers, exporters or manufacturers of the product. The duty rates have been published in Government Gazette No. 7239 of 12 June 2012 and although the notice by the Commissioner only deals with denatured ethyl alcohol, the Gazette also confirms the withdrawal of the fuel levy on kerosene (illuminating paraffin).
