“ The great question that has never been answered and which I have not yet been able to answer, despite my thirty years of research into the feminine soul, is “what does a woman want?” Sigmund Freud, Ernest Jones’ Sigmund Freud : Life and Work.

Despite my thirty years of work in Education, the question still intrigues me. Different women want different things. I dreamt of many things... to love... to be loved, to do things that I loved doing and felt passionate about and to be a good mother, above all else. It is perhaps for these reasons that often I found it so difficult to balance family, home and work issues. I have been surrounded by very strong  women who have loved their work almost as much as they have loved their families and it has been so interesting to note that these women have been inspirational at home and at work. I have seen men be the same.  So it is perhaps more about the person that you are rather than whether one is male or female.  However, today’s women have noticed that superwomen do not exist.  I have come into contact with at least three PwC women who seem to be thriving within a changing male-dominated financial services world and talk happily about their children. They seem to have found the balance. I am fascinated by the fact that I will be working alongside these women to provide a learning experience for their young children at the Nursery and Childcare centre. During all of my professional life I have striven to create valid and exciting educational programmes that draw out the best in the children and young adults entrusted to our care. Hopefully we inspired them to love life, have a strong sense of purpose and to grasp the wonderful opportunities that await them, whilst realistically accepting occasional defeats and learning to live with their shortcomings. Aiming at high standards with style is what I have tried to achieve.  Style is a state of soul and says a lot about who and how you are. So my questions to you are  “ Who are you? “Who do you want to be?”. As the inspirational Benjamin Zander says : “It is all invented.” So how is your inner strength and context... inventing you?
