We are pleased to announce the launch of PwC Global and Middle East Family Business Survey Reports. This year’s PwC Family Business Survey covered almost 2,000 firms across the world (including the Middle East), from both developed and emerging markets, representing sectors as diverse as manufacturing, retail, automotive, and construction.
The respondents could not have been more varied in their size, location, and industry, and yet there was a marked similarity in their approach to business, and in what they considered to be the distinctive characteristics of businesses like theirs.
We have also developed a Middle East cut of the survey with 65 in-depth interviews, covering broadly the same range of sectors. Over 80% of the respondents were from businesses established for more than 20 years, and nearly 70% from firms with a turnover of over US$100m.
The overarching message from the survey for the Middle East is that family firms here are thriving, confident, and less concerned than those elsewhere in the world by the on-going economic situation.
