The global economy is constantly evolving. Politics are increasingly navigating trade flows, emerging countries are maturing, resulting in a dramatic shift in where companies do business.
Foreign Direct Investment into South East Asia is at a record high, thanks to the ongoing efforts to improve the investment climate in countries such as Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand.
In China, the impending New Foreign Investment Law follows the Government’s moves to further open its market and level the playing field for foreign businesses competing with domestic private firms and state-owned enterprises.
In such an era, it is foreseen that new risks will occur that were not anticipated. In the future, in order for Japanese companies to successfully invest and do business in these countries, understanding the local laws and regulations is important.
