PwC Japan to Cosponsor Slush Asia 2016

Connecting startups and investors; supporting the creation of innovation

TOKYO, 27th April 2016 - PwC Japan (Group Chairman and Territory Senior Partner: Hiroyuki Suzuki) will cosponsor Slush Asia 2016, a conference to be held at Makuhari Messe on May 13 and 14.

Slush ( is one of the world’s largest startup conferences. Since its launch in Finland, it has attracted attention from investors and entrepreneurs all over the world. More than 15,000 people from over 100 countries—including startups, investors, and members of the press—joined Slush in Helsinki last November.

As a global Slush partner, PwC supports the worldwide rollout of the event. By fostering exchanges between participants, including quick-moving startups and large innovation-seeking companies, Slush becomes the origin of new partnerships and business opportunities.

On Friday May 13 and Saturday May 14, Slush Asia 2016 ( will launch in Japan, with the theme of the “Coexistence between Technology and Humans.” Slush Asia is an English-language event for young talent, entrepreneurs, investors, companies, media, and students to get together. Scheduled programs include presentations and discussions by guest speakers from around the world, a pitch contest between 100 startups, and meetings between startups and investors.

PwC Japan will debut the “PwC Innovation Space” at Slush Asia 2016, where PwC consultants and accountants will provide free consulting for visitors seeking to start business or launch IPOs. Also, there will be mini-sessions under themes such as robotics, cybersecurity, machine learning, block chains, and diversity, as well as an opportunity for visitors to exchange ideas.

By participating in Slush Asia 2016, PwC will help develop the ecosystem surrounding startups.
