Australia and Japan enjoy a long and prosperous relationship and our mutual trade and investment relationship has been a key driver of growth for both countries. Historically, Japan’s investment in Australia has been more towards direct investment in energy and mineral resource development. Over the past few years Japanese investment in Australia has started to reach into other sectors such as financial services, infrastructure, IT, property, food and services.
