Kotaro Okamoto joined PwC Legal Japan as a Director in July 2018. Prior to joining PwC, he worked at one of the largest law firms in Japan for 12 years and also worked for a major e-commerce company.
Kotaro is primarily engaged in M&A transactions and corporate reorganisations, and advises on general corporate and commercial matters. He has experience representing various clients in both inbound and outbound acquisition transactions, PMI transactions and other corporate reorganisations.
He also provides tax advice and represents clients in tax litigation including cases before the courts and the tax tribunal. In addition, he advises on tax law interpretations and tax planning in corporate and financial transactions.
He is admitted to practice law in Japan (2000) and New York State (2007).
