Thirty-six teams of 10 from an array of Island companies battled it out at Ballafletcher in the fun event, sponsored again by PwC Isle of Man.
The MAC Group took the title after a closely fought final victory over Crowe Isle of Man with the 2018 champions, SMP in third place. But the emphasis was on friendly competition and raising money for a good cause.
Joff Whitten, Head of The Children’s Centre, said: ‘For 360 people to take part representing businesses from across the Island is wonderful and I’d like to thank everyone for making it a really enjoyable event.
‘PwC’s sponsorship allows us to organise events like this and raise valuable funds so we can continue to deliver our charitable services. A big thank you to them, to Martin Howland for catering and Vagabonds for the fantastic location.
‘Each year this is a really friendly, sporting and community occasion and everyone involved seems to have a ball.’
With PwC covering organisational costs, all of the proceeds from the tournament will go directly to charitable projects which help families and children.
They include adventure-based activities at venues across the Island, including coasteering and climbing, educational and nurturing programmes and rural experiences at the charity’s 15-acre Community Farm.
Paul Jones, CR lead from PwC, added: ‘It was a great night and you could see why it had long been sold-out as it is so much fun. The Children’s Centre did an amazing job of co-ordinating, refereeing and running the event. The feedback has been fantastic. We would like to thank all involved - the teams for taking part and contributing to the total and the score keepers.’
Due to its popularity, a second smaller tournament will be held later this week when it’s hoped a further £3,000 will be raised.
