The trends: global and regional

Below we take a look at the global trends over nine years for each of the sub-indicators. Each of the three sub-indicators has fallen every year, but as was detected for the first time last year, the rates of decline are slowing.

Below are charts showing the trends for each of the sub-indicators breaking out the global averages by region, and also this year between the types of tax captured by the study, being profit taxes, labour taxes, mandatory contributions, and ‘other’ taxes (or in the case of the time to comply, consumption taxes).
