PwC's cloud business is intertwined with its digital business, and it continues to embed this capability within each of its experience centres.

PwC has been named as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Cloud Professional Services 2020 Vendor Assessment (April 2020, IDC #US45439120).  This evaluation is based on a comprehensive framework and set of parameters expected to be most conducive to success in providing cloud professional services in both the short term and the long term.

According to the report, “Professional services to plan, design, and build both hybrid (combining elements of public and private cloud and on-premises solutions) and multicloud delivery models (combining multiple public cloud services) have become widespread. Beyond cloud technical skills and competence, providers are trying to differentiate on complementary professional services (e.g., business consulting for industry knowledge or agency services for improving customer experience).”

The authors of this IDC MarketScape report, Gard Little and Chad Huston, say that: “Since it began investing in its cloud business in 2007, PwC's cloud professional services strategy has remained constant — to embed these capabilities across all its service lines in support of business transformation. PwC's current strategy through execution focus includes helping clients deal with the business operating model challenges of moving to cloud and helping clients move from individual cloud silos to a more integrated platform.”

They go on to say that: “PwC's cloud business is intertwined with its digital business, and it continues to embed this capability within each of its experience centres. Similarly, PwC uses its proprietary Digital Fitness App not only to educate clients and staff about cloud-based business transformations but also to apply insights gained from operating the application.”

Commenting on PwC’s strengths, the report states that “Buyers rate PwC highly for its innovation capabilities and its overall prospects. IDC notes PwC's employee strategy and the breadth of its offerings around applications-centric platforms.”

Rohit Antao, Cloud Transformation Leader, PwC said: “We are really pleased to be recognised as a leader in this IDC MarketScape. Designed to enable innovation that creates new business models and amazing customer experiences, we help our clients with Cloud solutions that drive revenue, streamline operations and accelerate digital transformation — all while managing risk and resiliency. Our combined expertise in business, technology, risk and controls helps power our insights into how the cloud can transform businesses.”
