Placing first in Breadth of Consulting Capabilities, PwC Named “Best in Class” for Project Management
Out of 32 vendors included in the report, PwC maintained the outright #1 placement in Breadth of Consulting Capabilities, year over year. In the report, ALM defines, “Capability depth denotes a provider’s capacity to get results for clients, while capability breadth indicates its ability to deploy that capacity across multiple client scenarios.” PwC also moved up two points to positon #3 in overall client impact, and rose five points in capability depth.
Companies have a renewed interest in re-evaluating their product operations, and are looking to consulting services to help them evaluate digital and advanced manufacturing technologies that can help improve productivity and costs, referred to as Industry 4.0. Per ALM, “This report outlines how leading consulting firms are adapting to these trends.”
Regarding PwC’s “Best in Class” Project Management offering, Naima Hoque Essing, Senior Research Analyst at ALM and author of the report, noted, “PwC lives up to its strategy-to-execution maxim with an exceptional ability to seamlessly bring together and coordinate multiple stakeholders, including its industry and functional consultants, client resources and third-party technology vendors, to deliver positive client outcomes.”

The report delves into PwC’s service, discussing its holistic, ground-up nature, “Service delivery starts with walking the shop floor, asking the right questions, and challenging assumptions about the ways of working that limit companies’ ability to achieve full benefits of performance improvement initiatives. It concurrently conducts fundamental, structured evaluations of plant, labor and equipment conditions aided by the application of analytics, proprietary industry studies and benchmarks.
