PwC Canada named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Canadian Digital Business Services 2019 Vendor Assessment

PwC Canada has been named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Canadian Digital Business Services 2019 Vendor Assessment (Doc #CA44501819 , April 2019). The IDC MarketScape research is a quantitative and qualitative assessment of the characteristics that explain a vendor's current and future success in Canada. This specific study assesses the capabilities and strategies of firms offering digital business transformation services, the combination of digital strategy consulting, digital enablement services (including technology integration), and digital agency services in an inclusive offering. 

The report states that: “Digital transformation (DX) has become one of the key competitive battlegrounds for IT and business services firms in Canada, and as a result, the market for consulting and implementation services is highly competitive.” 

It also says that “PwC has implemented a structured methodology called Business, eXperience, and Technology (BXT). The BXT methodology unifies the three requirements for digital transformation by triangulating on business issues or problems from three intersecting and interconnected perspectives.” 

Commenting on PwC Canada, the IDC MarketScape report states that “PwC has a strong handle on the consulting and advisory services required to help Canadian customers undertake DX projects. The firm has also been aggressive in supporting its Canadian customers by opening DX experience centres in three Canadian cities, soon to be joined by an additional three centres in Western and Central Canada.” 

It goes on to say: “In addition, Canadian businesses recognise that PwC has strong capabilities in monetizing DX initiatives and providing industry insights and competence. From a business perception perspective, Canadian businesses believe that PwC has strength in meeting project timelines and appropriately leveraging local and global resources.”

IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of ICT suppliers in a given market. The research methodology utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each vendor’s position within a given market. The Capabilities score measures vendor product, go-to-market and business execution in the shortterm. The Strategy score measures alignment of vendor strategies with customer requirements in a 3-5-year timeframe. Vendor market share is represented by the size of the circles. Vendor year-over-year growth rate relative to the given market is indicated by a plus, neutral or minus next to the vendor name.
