Diversity & Inclusion at PwC
PwC is made up of 55,000 people of different races, ethnicities, genders, backgrounds, religions and beliefs. But together, we’re one firm united by purpose and values. We continue to build a culture of belonging—one where we move from awareness to empathy and demonstrate inclusive leadership. But as much as we’ve learned from our progress, we know that we’re not yet where we want to be.
As a purpose-led and values-driven organization, we’re using the talent and resources of PwC to be a voice for change—and we know that to be a leader, we must continue to do better ourselves.
We will continue to be bold, intentional, and unwavering in our commitment to transparency and accountability.
Within our firm, the first step to progress is being accountable. That’s why we’re transparent in sharing what has worked well and identifying what hasn't. As part of that promise, we published our first-ever Diversity & Inclusion Transparency Report, which reports on our diversity strategy and data and the progress of our actions.

Our story and key data points.
This past fall, we co-founded and launched CEO Action for Racial Equity, a Fellowship dedicated to advancing racial equity for the Black community through public policy. Using CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion - the largest CEO-driven business commitment to advance diversity and inclusion within the workforce - as a platform, our mission is clear: To identify, develop and promote scalable and sustainable public policies and corporate engagement strategies that will address systemic racism, social injustice and improve societal well-being.

Beyond accelerating progress within our firm, we have a responsibility to help drive change in society and within the business community. Here are a few examples of how we are advancing D&I outside of our firm:
Access Your Potential is our continuing commitment to build experiences that ignite a passion for technology among diverse students in underserved communities. We are adding a focus on students of institutions that serve racially/ethnically diverse students, like Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic Serving Institutions and community colleges, helping these graduates be fully prepared for the workforce.
We co-founded and launched CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™—the largest CEO-driven business commitment to advance diversity and inclusion within the workplace—with 175 signatories in 2017. Today, more than 1,200 CEOs of the world’s leading companies representing over 85 industries along with 90+ university presidents and approximately 13M employees and students, have signed the pledge and are actively creating change.
Through the PwC Charitable Foundation, in June 2020, we donated $250K each to The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc., Dream Corps., The American Civil Liberties Union Foundation and The Center for Policing Equity and matched up to $1,000 of our peoples’ individual donations to these four organizations. Additionally, we supported our people as they started crowdfunding campaigns for social justice organizations. Together, we have collectively donated $3.7M. Additionally, during this same period we gave $280K in total to 28 HBCUs to help support their tech enablement efforts.
PwC's dedication to diversity has been recognized by a broad spectrum of external organizations. We view this as an opportunity to measure our progress and assess where we stand in a competitive field that includes other professional services firms, as well as our clients.
Our strategy for sustainable change within the firm is rooted in supporting our peoples’ career journey and we are constantly evolving in order to better meet their unique needs. We know there isn’t an easy or “one size fits all” solution, but our desire is to help support each person so that they can manage professional and personal commitments in the way that works best for them and their families.
