Manitoba - Virtual meetings: The Manitoba government introduced legislation that, if enacted, would permit directors, shareholders, members and unit owners of co‑operatives, condominium corporations and other corporations to meet virtually. This would extend the temporary provisions currently in place under the Emergency Measures Act.
Nova Scotia - Funding to support the tourism industry: The Nova Scotia government announced $12 million of funding to support recovery of the tourism industry: (i) $9.2 million for registered tourism accommodations to implement marketing activities; (ii) $1.8 million for regional marketing initiatives; and (iii) $1 million to help tourism operators and event managers enhance their digital marketing and online presence. Program details will be available the week of March 7, 2022.
Quebec - Relaxation of public health restrictions: The public health measures that were scheduled to be lifted on March 14, 2022, will instead be lifted on March 12, 2022. The requirement to wear a mask in most public places will be lifted in mid‑April, except for public transit where the requirement will be lifted in mid‑May.
