On May 14, 2018 (the “Date of Bankruptcy”), Reliable Bookbinders Limited (“RBL”, or the “Company”), made an assignment into bankruptcy for the general benefit of creditors pursuant to the provisions of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (“BIA”) and PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc., LIT (“PwC”) was appointed as Licensed Insolvency Trustee, of the estate of RBL (the “Trustee”).
Notice of the bankruptcy and the first meeting of creditors, a proof of claim form and materials relating to the bankruptcy proceedings (the “Bankruptcy Notice”) was mailed by the Trustee on May 17, 2018 to all known creditors of RBL, pursuant to the provisions of the BIA. A copy of the Bankruptcy Notice is posted on the “Notices and Proof of Claim form” page of this website.
The first meeting of creditors will be held on June 4, 2018, at 10:00 am, at the Wilmar Heights Event Centre, Auditorium, at 963 Pharmacy Ave., Scarborough, ON M1R 2G5.
Concurrently, on May 14, 2018, PwC was appointed as receiver (the “Receiver”), without security, of certain assets, undertakings and property (the “Property”) of RBL acquired for, or used in relation to the business carried on by the Company, pursuant to the security agreement between RBL and Business Development Bank of Canada.
In accordance with the provisions of the BIA, a Notice and Statement of the Receiver (the “Receivership Notice”) will be prepared by the Receiver within 10 days of its appointment.
On February 19, 2019 the Receiver issued a S.81.4 dividend distribution to former employees with proven claims, subject to the amounts owed to Service Canada under the Wage Earner Protection Program Act (“WEPPA”), where applicable.
